Programs by Age Group
Every child and young adult has a place in our Sunday School. Choose an age group below to learn more.
Little Lambs
Our youngest learners are introduced to God's love through stories, songs, and simple prayers. Classes are taught in both Amharic and English with lots of activities and fun.
Children begin learning the foundational prayers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, simple Bible stories, and basic Amharic letters in a warm, nurturing environment.

Children's Class
Children in this group receive a solid foundation in the Ethiopian Orthodox faith — covering the Bible, Church history, sacraments, and Amharic reading and writing skills.
Classes are interactive, with group discussions, creative activities, and memorization of key prayers and hymns of the Church.

Youth Program
Teenagers explore the depths of the Ethiopian Orthodox faith, Christian ethics, and their identity as Orthodox believers growing up in America. This is a space for real questions and honest conversations.
Youth also participate in community service, leadership training, and are encouraged to become active members of the church community.

Young Adults
Young adults deepen their Orthodox faith through advanced Bible study, theology, and meaningful engagement with the Church community. This group focuses on faith, professional life, and service.
Monthly fellowship dinners, guest speakers from the priesthood, and community outreach are regular features of this group.

Have questions about our Sunday School? Here are answers to the most common ones.
All children are welcome to attend our Sunday School classes regardless of baptism status. We encourage families to speak with one of our priests about baptism if they have not yet received the sacrament.

Yes — all Sunday School programs are completely free of charge. This is a ministry of love for our community and we welcome every child and youth. Neqa Tbebat School Charges Service Fee - to Support Future full scale school.
አዎ። ሰንበት ትምህርት ቤት ሙሉ በሙሉ ነጻ ነው። ነቅዐ ጥበባት ትምህርት ቤትን ግን በሙሉ አቅም ለማደራጀት እንደ ድጎማ ወርሃዊ ክፍያ አለ።
Classes for younger children are taught in both Amharic and English. Youth and Young Adult classes are primarily in English with Amharic used where appropriate. Amharic language classes are taught exclusively in Amharic.

Absolutely. Our Sunday School welcomes all children — whether they grew up in the Church or are discovering the Ethiopian Orthodox faith for the very first time. Our teachers are experienced with children of all backgrounds.

Simply bring your child to church on any Sunday and introduce yourself to one of our Sunday School teachers or the church office. You can also contact us directly using the button below. Registration is quick and informal.

Yes — we always welcome dedicated volunteers who love children and wish to serve the community. Please contact the Sunday School director Betelhem or the church office Tewodros or Elshaday to express your interest.
